Dutchman Labradors & Beagles is a small hobby kennel located in central
Virginia. Our goal is to produce multi-purpose labs from English Lines. We
prefer the English lines for their beauty and temperament. Our main focus is
conformation and obedience, but we have bred puppies who are successfully
working in the field or have received their hunt titles, and are in training as service dogs for the physically
challenged. We've added a few beagles, and hope to have our first
litter this winter.
Our oldest daughter is learning the ropes and is now showing in Junior Showmanship
and open classes. We are proud to say she is beating us on occasion. She
has qualified for Open Jr's and has numerous BOW/BOS & BOB wins in the Beagle
ring. She even made the
final cut in the Terrier Group at Harrisonburg KC - a special thanks to Ann
Parris & David Altman for allowing her the opportunity - she had a blast!
On 4/18/04 in Timonium Maryland she completed the championship title in limited
showing on 16 month old Harmony's Victoria's Secret - what a thrill, back to
back BOV major wins!! She has put championship titles on several beagles.
Our youngest daughter made her debut in Jr. Showmanship at the 2002 LRC of Potomac match and was in the ribbons... Her first venture in the tough Labrador breed ring, at barely 8 years of age was a huge thrill. She won Best of Opposite and Best of Winners with Lindy for points. With quick wins and a Best Junior award from Novice Junior, Lauren moved to Open classes very quickly.
We breed black and yellow labs, and
beagles. We
sometimes have puppies and older dogs available, please check our puppy page for
information on what is currently available. All pet puppies are sold on a
limited registration basis only (they are AKC registered, but their offspring
can not be registered).
We are members of the Labrador Retriever Club of
the Potomac, National Labrador
Retriever Club and Monticello Labrador Retriever Club (past Officer, Board Member and
Newsletter Editor). As a member of these clubs, we follow a strict
Breeders Code of Ethics. All of our dogs are screened for genetic problems
and have OFA and/or Wind-Morgan hip clearances and ACVO/CERF eye clearances.
Our stud dogs have heart clearances. There are no proven inheritable heart
problems in Labradors, but we do this to insure healthy puppies. We are
also beginning to do OFA & ACVO/CERF eye clearances on our beagles.
